The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have joined forces to create the International AI Standards Summit, announced today during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
This initiative follows the adoption of the [Global Digital Compact](http://www.un.org/techenvoy/global-digital-compact) by world leaders in September 2024 and is a direct response to a call to action by the United Nations to enhance Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance through International Standards.
